Media Advisory: University at Albany Forum Focuses on Barriers Facing Women Caregivers

UAlbany's Centers for Excellence in Aging Services and Women in Government & Civil Society will present "The Women's Health & Intergenerational Caregiving Forum," designed to define barriers facing female caregivers and identify mitigating strategies to overcome these barriers.

Background:
The Women's Health & Intergenerational Caregiving Forum will examine concerns related to women's health and intergenerational in-home and community-based caregiving in the Capital Region; define unmet needs and gaps in support services; identify strategies and best practice models to bridge gaps; and promote enhanced policy advocacy and strengthened public policy responses.

The forum is funded by a joint grant from the New York State Assembly, New York State Senate and New York State Department of Health.

The Center for Excellence in Aging Services is a translational research center that develops, tests, and implements innovative practices and policies that address the needs of aging persons, their families, and caregivers.
 
The Center for Women in Government & Civil Society is an institute at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy, University at Albany. The Center builds bridges among its partners through research, training, policy and system analysis, leadership development, resource sharing and capacity building.
