Media Advisory: UAlbany Psychological Services Center Opens New Facility

ALBANY, N.Y. (April 13, 2007)

What:
The Psychological Services Center (PSC) is the training facility for doctoral programs in Clinical and Counseling Psychology at the University at Albany, and provides low-cost services throughout the Capital Region from children through adulthood. The Center's new location (299 Washington Avenue) expands treatment facilities and provides a modern, state-of-the-art clinic for the Clinical and Counseling Psychology Programs.

Background:
The Psychological Services Center has served community members for more than 25 years, providing low-cost, sliding scale mental health services to the greater Capital Region. The Center's services include a broad range of psychological interventions, including psychotherapy, cognitive behavior therapy, career counseling, couples and family therapy, as well as psychological assessments including personality, neuropsychological, and learning disability assessment. The Center has also provides many learning assessments for students in local colleges and universities.
