UAlbany Unveils New Experts Web Page

ALBANY, N.Y. (January 24, 2007) – The University at Albany is debuting its faculty experts Web page, which provides a new and user-friendly resource to print and broadcast media.

More than 150 experts are available to offer analysis and commentary on hundreds of issues ranging from emergency preparedness to popular culture. Other categories include interpersonal relationships, economics, health, women’s issues, parenting, the Supreme Court, space exploration and terrorism.

Each month, the University will spotlight experts on topical issues and events. This month features Africana Studies lecturer Maurice Thornton as an expert on civil rights in honor of Black History Month. Thornton researches and teaches on the civil rights movement in the United States, African and African American History, and The African and African American Family.

The experts Web page is easily accessible from the University’s website at http://www.albany.edu/ by clicking on the "News & Experts" icon. Visitors will be able to search for experts by category or name.
