Elda Di Re ’83, Partner at EY, spoke at undergraduate commencement this year, the sixth alumnus to do so.

In 2009, the first to speak at commencement was Steve Zelin ’84, Senior Managing Director at Blackstone, followed by Stacy Bash Polley ’89, Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, Michael Carmen ‘84, Partner at Wellington Management, Nick Anacreonte ’92, Founder and Partner at Chatham Capital, and Jeff Black ’76, Vice Chairman at Deloitte.

Di Re previously spoke to the School of Business community at the first accounting orientation in 2008 and then again at Women’s Networking Event in 2010. At commencement, she advised students to consider a Venn diagram of “What do you like to do? What are you good at? And what is the market looking for?” Notice where the circles intersect and you will find your calling.

Di Re, born and raised in Queens, helps the school achieve its vision through the facilitation of an annual gift from EY and by serving on the Accounting Advisory Board.

This spring, the School of Business graduated 280 undergraduate and 179 graduate students in accounting and business.
