The Traphic Tool
The Traphic Tool Suite is a set of Python tools created to enable easy access to traffic data visualization while using ArcMap. The tools are the result of an ongoing research project between the New York State Department of Transportation and the Geography & Planning department of the University at Albany.
The suite was originally developed as a standalone piece of software based around ESRI's ArcEngine API but has been ported to standalone pythong extensions for ESRI ArcMap.
The suite consists of three tools. The first is a Naics code grid analysis tool which allows the user to visualize the density of different industries by their (up to) 8 digit NAICS code. The second tool visualize's New York State short count data using point and click methodology in Arc Map. The final tool allows users to display layers in a time series.
