About

Mr. Beauharnois is a Senior Programmer/Analyst at the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center, with 30 years of experience specializing in applications software development in the areas of scientific computing, atmospheric instrumentation data processing and analysis, simulation and modeling, distributed and shared memory parallel programming, visual analytics (information and scientific visualization), and web development.

Mr. Beauharnois holds a Bachelors degree in computer science from the State University of New York. He has designed, and developed software systems for diverse projects such as; the US Air Force’s Telemetry Simulation System, the US Department of Agriculture’s high resolution ultraviolet spectroradiometer, the US Department of Energy’s Rotating Shadowband Spectroradiometer, the EPA’s Regional Acid Deposition Model, and the ASRC Air Quality Forecast Modeling System.

His current work is focused on the design and implementation of the ASRC xCITE (ExTREME Collaboration, Innovation, & TEchnology) laboratory, a groundbreaking, state-of-the-art environment to facilitate multidisciplinary research collaboration, innovative software development, and ultra-high resolution scientific visualization that will play a critical role in maintaining and advancing the University at Albany’s competitive edge in the research community. Mr. Beauharnois has authored and co-authored several scientific papers.
