My research interests focus specifically on the effect of socio-cultural contingencies upon the choice of lithic raw materials by prehistoric populations in the Northeast. I wish to principally address the impact of shared systems of knowledge and modes of fabrication upon the selection within the variability in quality and mechanical properties of given sources, without however evacuating the impacts of the organizational aspects of stone tool technologies.
