Online Teaching and Learning


The Office of Online Teaching and Learning works to advance the strategic goals of the University through leadership in the area of online education in collaboration with academic, administrative, and support units across the University. Working with Colleges and Departments, the office is providing leadership and guidance to launch program-specific efforts to develop a variety online options appropriate to the program and its students including

  • Fully online degrees
  • Broader online course selection at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Hybrid/low residency courses and programs

In conjunction with expanded academic offerings, the office is also leading efforts to assess and develop student services options for fully online student population.

In addition, the office is also responsible for coordinating University online learning with external efforts, including participation in Open SUNY Plus, for advancing University leadership of research about online and digitally-enhanced teaching and learning, and for exploring externally funded research opportunities in online education.

Call for proposals 

The Office of the Provost will provide modest competitive funding for new proposals for online teaching and learning projects that help advance the strategic imperatives of the University under President Rodriguez. These include attracting and retaining new enrollments, expanding academic offerings, and innovating programs to meet 21st century societal challenges. Full details can be found here.
