The Atmospheric Sciences Research Center (ASRC), State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in atmospheric physics and chemistry. The successful candidate will participate in a project that couples an advanced particle microphysics (APM) model with WRF-Chem and studies the key processes controlling the regional aerosol properties and aerosol-cloud-climate interactions.
The qualifications required for this position include a Ph.D. in atmospheric science or a closely related field, significant experience in regional chemistry or climate modeling, and strong oral and written communication skills. The position is available immediately. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Applicants should send a statement of research interests, curriculum vita, list of publications, and the names and contact information of three references to Dr. Fangqun Yu (yfq@asrc.cestm.albany.edu), ASRC, SUNY-Albany, 251 Fuller Road, Albany, NY 12203. The Research Foundation of SUNY is an EO/AA/IRCA/ADA employer.
Research assistantships are available for highly qualified Ph.D. applicants to the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University at Albany. We are currently seeking applicants interested in pursing research utilizing advanced model and available data for understanding the aerosol dynamics under various conditions in the atmosphere and addressing aerosol climatic and health impacts. Applicants having a strong background in physics and meteoroloy are welcome to apply. Interested prospective students are encouraged to contact Dr. Fangqun Yu (yfq@asrc.cestm.albany.edu; http://www.albany.edu/~yfq). For general admission information, see http://www.atmos.albany.edu.
UAlbany undergraduate students, who are interested in our research and have strong background in atmospheric sciences, physics, or chemistry, are encouraged to contact me for possible undergraduate research opportunities.
