Assignment details:

  • This is all about storytelling. You and your partners will design a site that tells a story. Consider interactivity. Allow users choices and options. Grade is based on creativity, clarity, design and a good story. Final project is due Dec. 10, when all sites will be presented in class (yes, even for you seniors who "graduate" Dec. 9).
  • Keep it simple. Use color, fonts, frames, photos, graphics, short text blocks, links, etc. to set up your story. Some of the assignment is done conceptually, meaning that you outline in writing -- a proposal that you type and sketch and hand in as part of the final assignment -- what the final product would have if you knew everything about Web production. "This link here (diagram inserted) would launch a Flash movie that would ..." I don't expect you to product Flash movies, but your conceptualizing that possibility shows part of the creativity.
  • A great site with examples of story telling packages is National Geographic.
