2004 Highlights

The following highlights many of the projects we worked on in 2004.

Information Systems and Data Quality
New York State Office for the Aging

Here are a few highlights of our continuing work with the New York State Office for the Aging. Working with NYSOFA staff we developed a system dynamics model of long term care, a web-based questionnaire to collect reporting compliance plans from the local Area Agencies on Aging, an "Aging Services Leadership" PowerPoint presentation emphasizing relationship of data quality to an expanded role in long-term care; training materials to improve subcontractors' data collection efforts, and a PowerPoint presentation showing the relationship between expenditures on data quality and funding allocations.

The IT Commons and the "New College"
University at Albany, SUNY

The development of the IT Commons expanded to address the creation of a new college that would house the existing School of Information Science and Policy, Department of Computer Science, and the university-wide Information Science PhD program. Working with these three faculties and university governance has involved a diligent process to keep all of the stakeholders informed, engaged, and fully participative in the decision-making process.

NYS Center for Information Forensics and Assurance

Eager to get up and running, the New York State Center for Information Forensics and Assurance initiated construction of two laboratories, developed curriculum materials in cyber security and information forensics, hired staff, and launched a variety of research projects. More.
