Opening Bow: Students will line up by rank in rows in front of the Sensei and the senior rank student will perform the opening call for bowing in respect to Jigoro Kano then the Sensie. The class will officially begin.

Warm Up: The class will be lead by a student in warm ups at the beginning of every class with out exception. This is done to prevent injury as a result from cold muscles.

Break Falls: This is done after warm ups to make the students practice the most essential aspect of Judo, learning how to fall. This is also done to prevent injury as a result of falling.

Ground Work: Next, students will practice fighting on the ground. Practicing pins, chokes, armlocks, and general grappling techniques.

Technique Practice: Students will be taught the essential techniques for practicing Judo such as balance, movement, throwing techniques, control, and safety. This is the largest portion of the class as it is one of if not the most important part.
- A good place to find the throws taught for each rank can be found here.

Randori: Live fighting between students will take place during this period. Either sets of two students will be formed or two students will fight at a time in front of the class. This exercise is to teach the actual application of the techniques they learn in class and to prepare them for tournament. This is a very stressful part of class and is taken seriously as injuries are the most common during this time.

Closing Bow: As at the beginning of class students will line up in the same lines and the senior student will perform the closing call for bowing in respect to the previous figures. This is the official closing of the class.
