Databases and Indexing and Abstracting Services
To find articles from scholarly journals, magazines, and newspapers, use indexes and abstracts. Some may offer the full-text of the articles online, while most only give a citation. Check the catalog to see if your library subscribes to the journal. If not, go to the Interlibrary Loan department—most articles can be faxed within two days. To access these databases, you will need to be at a computer in the library or have a valid user id and password from the library. All these databases are accessible from computers on the University at Albany network. If you want to access them from your home computer, you will need a user id and password. They can be found through the University Library's databases page.
