I am an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management at the Department of Health Policy and Management, School of Public Health at University of Albany, SUNY, NY.  I am also an affiliated faculty at the Department of Informatics, College of Computing and Information, University at Albany, SUNY, NY. Much of my current research focuses on understanding different types of online communities (e.g., online customer communities, online user communities, online patient communities, online physician communities, etc.) and the impact of such online communities on collaboration and innovation in healthcare. My research also focuses on how such collaboration can facilitate technology adoption and improve health services quality and efficiency. My broad research interests include the areas of Health Information Technology (HIT), consumer health informatics, and health care management.
