Past conferences
The theme for 16th Annual NLCC was “Tapestry of Dreams: If not us, who? If not now, when?” A tapestry is not only a piece of cloth, it is an item with meaning, which is slowly and arduously woven together representing a cohesive theme. In many ways, this weaving and interweaving of thread is like the interwoven intricacies of our culture, for each woven piece is representative of our history and diversity.
The theme of the 15th Annual NLCC was "Quinceañera: Celebrating our People, Culture and Heritage" in honor of the conference's fifteenth consecutive year. Quinceañera in many, if not all, Latino cultures is a time of transition where a young girl enters into adulthood. The entire community witnesses this event, which traces all the way back to the Aztecs.
The 14th Annual National Latino Collegiate Conference, entitled "Bridging the Gap: Luchando Hacia el Futuro” focused on the existing gap Latinos face everyday in terms of jobs, education, political representation, socioeconomic status, and social advancement opportunities. In exploring the embodiment of our culture and traditions, we will discover the continued struggle that has been incessantly occurring in the Latino community.

The 12th Annual National Latino Collegiate Conference, entitled "The Essence of Our Presence … Reflejos de Mi Sangre," focuses on the foundation of the Latino culture. In exploring the essence of our people and traditions, we will discover the cause of our strength and struggle for a unified Latino community. This was the first year that The Northeastern Latino Collegiate Conferences went National.
The 11th Annual NLCC was entitled "Yo Declaro: Latinos claiming their community." Latinos in America share similar histories, are familiar with the daily joys and struggles of American life, and can hope together for a grander future. The importance of building and maintaining a community of strong, dedicated, and resourceful Latinos is the aim of this year's conference. We are looking at the issues that will affect the successful creation of a Latino community. A community that is economically productive, politically empowered and socially responsible. We are determined to issue "una declaración," a statement of purpose, a vision of our future for the generations that follow.
The 10th Annual NLCC was entitled, "Echando Pa'lante: Latinos Making it Happen."
