On the Eighteenth of March, of
the year 1994, the founding brothers of Nu Alpha Phi:
Albert Yip, Bill Tong, Henry Ngan, Lok
Man Kwok, Alan Sun, Eric Peng, Tai Nham and Sean Chao
came together and established our Fraternity.
Our Purpose is to instill the following qualities within ourselves:
Discipline, Unity, Service, Leadership, Professionalism, Pride and Brotherhood.
These are the principles we live by to this day. These founding fathers of
the Alpha Chapter, in order to build a solid foundation for generations to
come, elected Cambodian (Henry Gnan) to be Pledge Educator, and committed
themselves through a series of tasks that are now the basis of the educating
process of Nu Alpha Phi. Each founding father was given a pledge name, He-Man
(Yip, Albert), Mickey (Tung, Bill), Cambodian (Gnan, Henry), MasterLock (Kwan,
Lok Man), Rex (Sun, Alan), OneWay (Peng, Eric), TBone (Nham, Thai), and Kid
(Chao, Sean).
They built a tradition that will be handed down from pledge class to pledge
class. These series of tasks involved the Alpha Class with the community,
providing their Services. They behaved themselves with Discipline, held formal
meetings, and taught themselves the meaning of Leadership and Professionalism.
They came to understand the true meaning of Brotherhood through their Unity.
At the end of this process, these founding fathers of our fraternity emerged
with Pride when our letters were handed to them. Through their hard work,
they became the Founding Fathers of
Nu Alpha Phi.
