AMAT 540 A & B.

Description

K0, K1, and higher algebraic K-theory of rings, exact categories, categories with cofibrations, and categories with cofibrations and weak equivalences (also known as Waldhausen categories). Additivity theorem and other fundamental theorems of algebraic K-theory. Extensive review/introduction to background material in category theory and simplicial techniques.

None, but lecture notes and additional reading material will be distributed in class.

Grading

Biweekly homework assignments.
