12/2005 – 08/2006      Research Assistant, New York State Psychiatric Institute

·        Recruiting pregnant women who are using crack/cocaine, marijuana, or on methadone treatment for a research study on infant brain development.

·        Identifying and obtaining approval for new sites

·        Assessing participants with the following measures: Hamilton Anxiety and Depression scales, Drug History Questionnaire, Psychosocial Evaluations, Concepts of Development Scale, and Family Environment Scales

·        Working with multiple IRBs to recruit participants from hospitals and other treatment centers

·        Documenting recruitment procedures and progress

·        Assisting participants to find housing and other social services

·        Coordinating multiple studies including research on preschoolers’ emotions, attention, and ERP (Event-related potentials) in relation to mood
