The SCIL (Self-Control in Life) laboratory is primarily interested in the role of self-control in human behavior. We focus on both applied issues, such smoking, addictions, and crime, as well as more theoretical issues, such as why self-control is easier in some situations and for some people than in others. Much of our efforts have been spent testing implication of the self-control strength model.
