Data Sets

from Economic Statistics and Econometrics, Third Edition.
Englewood Cliffs: Prentice Hall, 1995.

The linked files contain all the data from Tables 2.2 and 2.3 of the text, in plain text ASCII format.

The file cstable.txt contains the data from Table 2.2 (Cross-Section Data Set), except that the observation number (which is printed in the leftmost column in the book) is not included. The very first line of the file contains the variable names, so there are 101 lines in total. Each line is 72 characters long.

The file tstable.txt contains the data from Table 2.3 (Time-Series Data Set), except that the observation number (which is printed in the leftmost column in the book) is not included. The very first line of the file contains the variable names, so there are 26 lines in total. Each line is 76 characters long.

These data may be freely used for instructional purposes in courses that have adopted this book as the text. The publisher (Prentice Hall) reserves its copyright protections.

(Note that the Second Edition of the text had a printing error in the time-series data set. DPI for 1962 should have been 524.9)
