THE MILNE CHORUS

From Richard Propp, '52:

"Hail Alma Mater true, Our thoughts reach out to you....

"In a historic moment, the first meeting of 'The Milne Chorus' took place in Page Hall on October 24 at 10 am. in Albany, NY, 34 years after Milne closed its doors.

"We worked hard on the 'Alma Mater.' We'll do better next time, which will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 21, when we have the music. Jennifer Watson of UAlbany got us the words to the 'Alma Mater,' as well as to 'Blue Moon' and 'We Shall Overcome.' (We sang all 10 verses!)

"Attending were Lynda BEARUP Porter and Doug Porter from Troy (Doug conducted us with great patience), Barbara WOLZ Matson, Nancy ZUGLAN, Janet VINE, Charles ESON, and Richard PROPP from the Albany area; Hannah TABONSKY Antiles and husband Len from New Jersey; and Sandy CAMPOLI Shanor from Wyoming.

"Afterwords some of us adjourned to the Hudson Coffee Shop in the old Mildred Elly building near Quail and Hudson for lunch. We thank Jennifer Watson for getting us Page Hall, the piano, chairs, and music! We hope word will spread of this fine opportunity to reunite, tell Milne stories, and sing...and that our little group will grow a bit."
