Welcome to Women In Cognitive Science ! We are seeking to
Women in Cognitive Science (WICS) was founded in 2001 by Judith Kroll (Penn State), Randi Martin (Rice University), and Suparna Rajaram (Stony Brook). Until 2007 it was supported by a National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE Leadership Award. Since 2007, Laurie Feldman (Albany) and Janet van Hell (Radboud U. Nijmegen, the Netherlands & Penn State) have assumed a leadership role within the group. WICS was initially affiliated with the Psychonomic Society. Since 2006, the Science Directorate of the American Psychological Association (APA) has provided support for a WICS social hour following meetings at the Psychonomic Society. In addition to Psychonomimcs, WICS events are now planned for upcoming meetings of the Association for Psychological Science (APS) and the Cognitive Science Society (CSS) . Events in 2008-2009 are funded in part by a grant from the Perception, Action and Cognition Program at the National Science Foundation. WICS acknowledges the generous support from NSF, the Psychonomic Society, APA, APS, and CSS..
