Peking University

Founded in 1898, Peking University (PKU) is the first national university in Chinese modern history. Peking University now consists of five faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Medicine, and Information and Engineering. The University has 30 colleges and 12 departments, and offers 93 undergraduate programs, 199 postgraduate programs, and 173 doctoral programs. International students have the following options of study at Peking University: (1) Undergraduate or graduate degree-granting programs; (2) Visiting student status (non-degree granting) for one or two years; (3) Pre-enrollment training program; (4) Short-term language courses or Chinese studies programs.

 

Tsinghua Universtiy

Tsinghua University is one of the most famous universities in China. Located in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing--the capital city of China, Tsinghua University was built on the site of ¡°Tsinghua Yuan¡± --a former royal garden of Qing Dynasty. Tsinghua University has established bilateral exchange and cooperation ties with many universities, colleges, research institutes and multinational companies.In 2003, more than 1000 foreign students were enrolled in Tsinghua University. They came from 57 countries and studied in science and technology, humanities, economics, management, law, arts and other disciplines.

 

Beijing Foreign Studies University

Beijing Foreign Studies University, founded in Yan'an in 1941, was the first institution of higher education in China specializing in foreign language studies. It is one of the key universities directly under the Ministry of Education of PRC. The variety of languages taught here offer a unique language environment for both Chinese and overseas students to master their target languages.

 

Shanghai International Studies University

Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), founded in 1949, is a key university under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of PRC. As a foreign language university committed to providing a variety of applied programs, Shanghai International Studies University prepares professional qualified for roles in international affairs having expertise in more than one specialty. The College of International Cultural Exchange offers undergraduate program in Chinese language(either business-oriental or Chinese-English double language oriental) and offers Master's degrees and Doctoral degrees in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics.

 

Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), is a key university in China. SJTU was founded in 1896. It is one of the oldest universities in China. The University has nurtured large numbers of outstanding figures.School of International Education is a special school of education of Shanghai Jiao Tong University for international students coming from all parts of the world. It provides Chinese Language programs for 4-year undergraduate studies as well as programs on various levels of learning and training.
