Planning/Research Interests
Joseph came from a small former milltown and rural area. He understands the importance of employment for keeping our small towns and cities in tact. Also having grown up in rural Upstate NY the environment, clean water and skies are important to him, and he believes it must be in balance with smart land use and development. Restoration of brownfields, environmental restoration, building reuse, and creative uses of these spaces are some of his interests. As well as community arts, small town downtown development, and access to public services.

Thesis/Research Paper Topic
The topic of his research paper is Restoration and redevelopment of brownfields:  funding sources, creative reuse, and best practices.
