About the text: David C. Lay, Linear Algebra, 4th ed., 2012. There is also a required online content package that includes the use of Pearson's MyMathLab.

Exams: There will be two exams. The midterm will be one hour long, taken in class on Monday, March 9 (the midterm point!). Here are the answers to the midterm. The end-of-term exam is also one hour long, taken in class on Wednesday, April 29. Here are the answers to the exam. Here is the extra credit assignment that you can turn in in class on Wednesday, May 6.

Reading/Homework: Read the sections we cover in class immediately before or after each lecture. Homework problems from the text will be assigned on the MyMathLab website. The assignments will be generally due on Wednesdays. Here is a copy of the registration instructions from MyMathLab that I was distributing in class.

Grades: The course letter grades will be based on the total score obtained from homework, quiz and exam scores weighted according to the following scheme:

    online homework problems:         60%
    exams:         40% (20% midterm + 20% end-of-term exam)

In order to help with your planning, here are the days when this class is suspended by the university due to various holidays: ONLY THIS SPRING BREAK WEEK --- Monday through Friday, March 16-20. The last day of class is Wednesday, May 6.

The following information is added to satisfy the Minimum Contents of a Class Syllabus requirements. The prerequisite for this course is the sequence of two semesters of Calculus AMAT 112 and 113 or their analogues. The course is A-E graded. Attendance is critical to success in the class.
