  About Dr. Forsyth

"The most original of authors are not so because they advance what is new, but more because they know how to say something, as if it had never been said before."
......Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Books In Progress
Dr. Forsyth is in the proces of preparing a new Introductory Clinical Psychology text titled "The changing face of clinical psychology," Wadsworth/Thompson. This book promises to be quite different in content and approach from existing texts describing the field of clinical psychology. Watch for it sometime in 2005-2006.

Dr. Forsyth, in collaboration with Dr. Georg Eifert, have finished up a book titled Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for the anxiety disorders: A practitioner's guide to using mindfulness, acceptance, and value based behavior change strategies, Oakland, CA: New Harbinger. This book is truly unique in that it provides an integrated step-by-step approach to the treatment of anxiety disorders from within an acceptance, mindfulness, and value-focused framework. It is about the promotion of fully functioning human beings, not about the alleviation of disorders. The completed treatment chapters are already undergoing rigorous testing in collaboration with Dr. Michelle Craske at UCLA, and soon in Albany NY. Watch for updates!
