MIC FLM HQ 60 S49X 1981 GUIDE
Sex Research Microform: Early Literature From Statistics to Erotica. Alfred C. Kinsey Institute for Sex Research. Library.
14 reels, 35 mm.
As the collection guide states, " Sex Research: Early Literature From Statistics to Erotica is an extensive collection covering the topic of human sexuality as it was treated in the writings of the 18th and 19th centuries." Since human sexual behavior is a subject which appears in works from almost every field of knowledge, titles in the collection span such diverse fields as Medicine, Biology, Anthropology, Law, the Classics, Art, Erotic Literature, and others. Among the books filmed are social histories, guidebooks to cities, dictionaries, art books, and romances. Also included are books on incest, homosexuality, divorce, rape, venereal diseases, and reproduction. The collection, therefore, provides research opportunities for scholars in many fields.
The University at Albany libraries currently own "Sexual Behavior And Attitudes," the first of four sections of the collection. Entries have been filmed in their original languages, mainly English, French, and German, and are not translated.
Items are arranged on the films alphabetically by author or title, if there is no author.
MIC FINDING AIDS:
The collection is indexed in Sex Research: Early Literature From Statistics to Erotica: Guide to the Microform Collection. There is a main entry listing (alphabetical listing by author or title if no author) and a title listing, both of which include all four sections of the collection.
