  SCOPE:

            Charles Evans devoted much of his life attempting to list "in full bibliographic detail the output of the early American presser, covering the years 1639-1820." Before his death, he had completed his project through 1800. The Readex Microprint Corporation has made 39,162 Evans' titles and 10,035 additional titles available reproducing "the complete text of every existent book, pamphlet, and broadside printed in the United States" from 1639 through 1800; serials are not included.
