SALS provides a number of useful and interesting databases for patrons. You will need the number off your library card and your password to access them. Click on the Databases link to enjoy these resources: Infotrac One File from Gale This mega-database of over 6,000 titles includes general interest magazines, business and technical publications and academic journals. Magazines for teachers are indexed here, as is National Geographic, Newsweek, and Time. EBSCO Databases A list of databases that search magazines, journals and newspapers grouped by subject area. Included in the periodical titles are Consumer Reports with charts, Business Week, Newsweek, Smithsonian, and Library Journal. General Reference Center Gold from Gale The first stop for high school research. Search over 1,000 general interest magazines, newspapers, reference works and journals. Teachers will find educational magazines, such as Instructor, School Library Journal, Reading Teacher, Teaching Children Mathematics, and Teaching Music. National Newspaper Index Indexing and abstracting of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Post. Country Watch Up-to-date information about and news from the countries of the world. Includes maps and articles from local newspapers. Dialog@CARL Best source for newspapers. Includes The New York Times full text 90 days. Search the Federal Register, US Patents and British Books-In-Print. Subject area coverage: news, business, reference, arts, humanities, social sciences, government, science, technology, and medicine.
