Personal History

I was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Henrietta a suburb south of Rochester. I was active as a child and enjoyed all sorts of sports, most notably golf, baseball and football. Fishing trips with my Grandma Ann are some of my favorite childhood memories. Later I attended Rush-Henrietta High School, home of the Royal Comets. I have one younger brother, Eric, who is now in the US Navy. Both of my parents still live in Henrietta.
I was the first person in my family to go to college, and I attended Alfred University in Western New York. I majored in Mathematics and minored in Secondary Education.
My wife Carolyn (who I met in Alfred) and I were married on Kauai, Hawaii in 2005. It was a wonderful ceromony attended by our closest family. To date, it was the best experince of my life!
I'm currently working toward my Ph.D. in mathematics at SUNY Albany where I teach a variety of calculus courses and tutor privately.
We have two pets that keep our home happy and messy! Our rabbit is a purebred mini-rex and her name is Blue. According to our seven year old neighbor she is the "softest thing in creation". Our dog is a black lab mix we adopted from a rescue. Although she is quite adorable, nobody thinks she is the softest thing in creation. But she is more than willing to eat any ice cubes I drop on the kitchen floor!
