I was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Henrietta a suburb south of Rochester. I was active as a child and enjoyed all sorts of sports, most notably golf, baseball and football. Fishing trips with my Grandma Ann are some of my favorite childhood memories. Later I attended Rush-Henrietta High School, home of the Royal Comets. I have one younger brother, Eric, who is now in the US Navy. Both of my parents still live in Henrietta.I was the first person in my family to go to college, and I attended Alfred University in Western New York. I majored in Mathematics and minored in Secondary Education.
My wife Carolyn (who I met in Alfred) and I were married on Kauai, Hawaii in 2005. It was a wonderful ceromony attended by our closest family. To date, it was the best experince of my life!
I'm currently working toward my Ph.D. in mathematics at SUNY Albany where I teach a variety of calculus courses and tutor privately.
We have two pets that keep our home happy and messy! Our rabbit is a purebred mini-rex and her name is Blue. According to our seven year old neighbor she is the "softest thing in creation". Our dog is a black lab mix we adopted from a rescue. Although she is quite adorable, nobody thinks she is the softest thing in creation. But she is more than willing to eat any ice cubes I drop on the kitchen floor!
