If you are interested in working in the Frye Lab, the first thing you need to do is read some of our papers. Once you have done this, if you find this work interesting you should read about the requirements and benefits of independent study. An independent study can be done through the psychology departments. Finally, you will need to download, fill out, and return the application. We prefer that you return the application via email to cafrye@albany.edu.
Once you have sent in the application, Dr. Frye will reply to your email confirming that she has received it. After checking your references she will reply to set up a time to meet and discuss collaborative opportunities.
Be aware that there are many students who would like to be a part of this research lab. It costs money to support research, and because money is a limited resource, so are the opportunities it provides. As such, students who intend to join the Frye Lab must be serious about their work and have an interest in professional research opportunities. This is not to discourage anyone from applying, but rather to make sure that you begin the process with the right mindset.
