The identification of unemployment insurance claimants who are at risk of exhausting their benefits has been a goal of both the U.S. and N.Y. Department of Labor. In this presentation, the identification of these elements based on past data is explained, using several variables including industry, occupation, geography, tenure, and others. Several statistical tools are utilized to determine best variable use and methodology for determining which claimants should receive intensive employment services.
