An Investigation of Stability over time of the Labor Force

for different industries in New York

In developing a profiling model for Unemployment Insurance, the two digit

industry code was found to be one of the key variables in determining the

exhaustion of a claimant's benefit. It is important to investigate the

stability in the history of the industry code. Various analysis of the

industry code based on seven years of data will be discussed.
