Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Patterns and Payment Sources for Vulnerable Populations in New York State

Medicaid managed care and welfare reform have the potential to affect the utilization and primary payment sources of alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment, especially for vulnerable populations, i.e. adolescents and women. New York State Office of Alcohol & Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) Client Data System were examinging using LOESS and X11 for evidence of changes in utilization (specifically, Lengths of Stay) by women and adolescents for Medicaid fee-for-service and Medicaid managed care primary payment sources.
