Data Mining What Is It ? Where Is It Going ?
With all the data that is now available, it must be full of gold (useful information). The methodologies to analyze large collections of data that were not designed for such use form the backdrop for data mining. The purpose of data mining is multifaceted and includes, classification, prediction, pattern recognition and network associations. The fields of application include health care delivery, detection of fraud, market basket analysis, and criminal investigation. The understanding of the outcomes can usually be enhanced with appropriate visual manipulation.
