If you are here it probably means your son is playing rugby :)The players and coaching staff would like to welcome you to the UAlbany Rugby Program. We take great pride in the rugby program at UAlbany which is entering it's 35th year. Below you will find information about the program and supports through the university and the team that your UAlbany player can take advantage of. Student-Athlete Support
We recognize the challenges that players face when trying to balance school with playing a competitive sport and we do our best to help with with that challenge. We
are flexible with the students athletes schedules to promote a "studies first" approach.
Academic support
The univeristy has academic support through our .
Medical Guidelines
Each player needs to be cleared by his physician in order to play. We hire athletic trainers to cover our contact practices, home games and some away games. If the opposition team has medical
we will use them.
Codes of Conduct
Each player is required to sign off on the USA Rugby + UAlbany Rugby's Code of Conduct.
Coaches
The UAlbany Rugby coaching staff has over 20 years each in playing/coaching experience. The coaches are all USA
Rugby certified and subscribe to the athlete centered method of coaching.
Transportation
The team travels to all non-local games by charter bus.
Alumni Network
The experience that members of UAlbany Rugby Teams have will last them for the rest of their lives.
The UAlbany Rugby Alumni is organized as constituent group through the University at Albany Alumni Association.
Alumni Mentoring
The University at Albany Alumni Association works to have rugby alumni who are professionals available to advise current students
as they begin to transition from University life to the real world.
Alumni Job Network
UAlbany Rugby Alumni look forward to hiring those who have shown dedication to the program. Rugby has been said to be the ultimate network.
