Major Highlights

Students accepting admission for 2007-08: 177

In its inaugural year, offering special learning opportunities for motivated students, The Honors College welcomed 119 incoming freshmen.

Professors from 14 departments taught 24 honors courses. For the 2007-08 academic year, faculty have increased honors course offerings to 33.

Eighteen percent of freshman Honors College students achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) and 46 percent achieved a GPA of 3.8 or higher in the fall semester. In the spring, 18 percent achieved a 4.0 and 43 percent achieved a GPA of 3.8 or higher.

Honors residence halls were established in the Residential Life Program.

The Honors College sponsored a wide range of educational and social out-of-the-classroom activities for honors students.
