Supporting UAlbany

Thanks to the generosity of alumni, friends, corporations and foundations, the University at Albany realized $11,118,054 in new philanthropic commitments during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, an increase of almost 50 percent from 2005-06.

Alumni Giving

Alumni were particularly generous, with 67 percent of all support coming from graduates. Two examples were the more than $900,000 in gifts and bequest commitments to the College of Arts and Sciences and an additional $800,000 in bequests and gift commitments for the University Libraries.

UAlbany Fund

Alumni also played an important role in the unprecedented success of the UAlbany Fund. The University's annual giving program posted a year-end total of nearly $3.1 million, an increase from the 2005-06 campaign.

Endowment

UAlbany's total endowment, which has doubled since 2002 and grown by 44 percent in just the past two years, stands at $23.8 million. Endowment returns for The University at Albany Foundation were 18.3 percent for 2006-2007.

The Importance of Donors

UAlbany is deeply grateful to the many donors whose generosity helps to ensure that scholarships, endowed faculty positions, The Honors College, the School of Business, the multi-sports complex, the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, the Cancer Research Center, and other worthy University initiatives receive the support they need and deserve.
