November 2012 - The University at Albany Libraries acquires the papers of alumnus and Albany native Gregory Maguire '76, the best-selling author of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which spawned the smash Broadway musical "Wicked."
March 2013 - Point Guard Jacob Iati takes a jumper over a Duke defender during the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Led by Head Coach Will Brown, the Great Danes recorded 24 wins for the season, captured the America East Conference Championship, and made their third NCAA Tournament appearance.
May 2013 - U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer, speaking at The RNA Institute at the University at Albany, announced his sponsorship of legislation that would funnel federal research dollars to top breast cancer research centers like the UAlbany facility.
June 2013 - The RNA Institute Director Paul Agris leads a tour of the newly expanded state-of-the-art facility for biomedical technology development. The 15,000-square-foot laboratory will serve as a pioneering R&D hub, making New York a national leader in RNA science, technology development, drug discovery, and diagnostics.
May 2013 - Members of UAlbany's Track & Field team surround Coach Roberto Vives as the Great Danes officially break ground on a brand new track and field venue that will allow teams to compete at home.
