UAlbany Remembers 9/11
The University honored the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 by posting photos of the alumni lost on 9/11. We changed our Facebook and Twitter profile photos and encouraged others to change theirs in solidarity. We also posted a "Where Were You on 9/11" question, which garnered 50 comments, making it the most-commented post at that time.

What is Fallbany?
UAlbany's annual Fall Fest got a new name in 2011 – Fallbany! We used a Twitter contest to promote the new name and encourage attendance. Those who retweeted a University #Fallbany tweet were entered to win a Nook Color! The campaign resulted in more than 9,000 potential impressions for #Fallbany from the contest alone.

Honoring UAlbany Veterans
We are proud of the University's military community and used our social media platforms to pay tribute to the bravery of UAlbany veterans. The University created four videos featuring students, faculty and staff who have fought for our country. The videos garnered more than 200 views on Facebook.

UAlbany Goes Green with Sustainability Week
UAlbany took to Foursquare to generate awareness about the UAlbany Green Scene's Sustainability Week. We used a geo-location based contest to drive traffic to the week's "green" events. Students were encouraged to check-in to the event and write a tip about what they learned. The first three check-ins received $10 Podium Money. The campaign resulted in a mention in Foursquare's blog!

Congrats, Graduates!
Each year, UAlbany graduates more than 2,000 students – all with their own stories of academic accomplishment and personal triumph. We highlighted some of these tales by posting them on Facebook, where they generated more than 600 clicks and 300 shares.

#NYGatUAlbany
The University hosted Super Bowl XLVI Champion New York Giants for its 16th summer training camp. There's always a lot of buzz surrounding camp, but we figured we'd generate a little more by creating the Twitter hashtag #NYGatUAlbany. More than 50 people – including Giants players, national media and camp attendees – used our hashtag, creating more than 214,000 potential impressions!

Where in the World Are You Interning?
What is a popular activity for UAlbany students during the summer? Interning! So we asked students to submit photos of themselves at their internships for a Facebook gallery. More than 50 students submitted photos from internships at Disneyland, ESPN, Popular Mechanic, NASA, and the United Nations, among others.
