What can you do with a degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies?
Since obtaining my WSS degree, I received an M.S.W. from NYU and a J.D. from Albany Law School. Throughout my career I have provided counseling services to low-income clients. I’ve had clerkships at Legal Aid Services of New York. In addition, I had a summer internship at The Legal Project—which is a connection I made as an undergraduate in Women’s Studies. With a WSS degree, the possibilities are endless. You can write, teach, counsel, practice law, pursue creative endeavors—anything you set your mind to. It is important to have an understanding of how race, class, and gender intersect, and what we can do to empower ourselves and others to fight against the systematic oppressions that exist everywhere.
