The Women’s Health Project welcomed the beginning of autumn with a Fall Affair community health event, held September 6, 2012, in the community room at Bliss Towers (41 N. 2nd St.) in Hudson, New York. The event, focusing on women’s reproductive health, was a collaboration of the Women’s Health Project and Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood (UHPP).
Attendees visited tables to learn about birth control and family planning, sexually transmitted infections and safer sex, breast and cervical cancer screening, and UHPP services. They were also able to schedule clinic appointments and obtain taxi vouchers for transportation to those appointments.
In addition to learning about reproductive health information, the attendees enjoyed playing Wheel of Knowledge for prizes, and supermarket gift card drawings.
The event was the 21st in a series of free health events offered by the Women’s Health Project, a community-based initiative of the Center for the Elimination of Minority Health Disparities at the University at Albany.
