Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work Day®

April 21, 2005

The Women’s Concerns Committee and Council of Women’s Groups invite you to participate in the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event, celebrated at the University at Albany on April 21, 2005. University faculty, staff and employees are invited to bring children of an appropriate age level to their workplace for the day, to help young people access and realize opportunities, introduce girls and boys to a discussion about future career choices, to broaden the discussion about the competing challenges of work and family, and to provide a forum for girls and boys to share their ideas about the workplace of the future.

To help facilitate such discussions, a pizza party will be held 12:00PM-1:30PM in the Patroon Lounge of the campus center.

This informal gathering is open to participating University employees and their children, and pizza and soda will be available for purchase - RSVP is required contact Alison Olin at abs@albany.edu or 442-3898 (please provide name, preference of toppings and drinks, and number of slices you would like) .

Parents are encouraged to make arrangements with co-workers, colleagues, and supervisors for job shadowing opportunities and exchanges.  Suggestions for future activities are welcome and the opportunity to participate in future programs will be available via an interest form at the pizza party.  Hope you can make it!
