Portable Arts
The Portable Arts section encompasses furnishings, manuscripts, metalwork, and the like from the
6th Century to the 20th Century. The section is divided into two main subsections: 500 through 1000 A.D.
and 1000 through 1900 A.D. Each of these is then divided alphabetically by medium according
to the list of media below. Each medium is then organized alphabetically by country or culture,
then chronologically by century, then alphabetically by medium subcategory (brass rubbings, liturgical
vessels, reliquaries, seals, etc.), then alphabetically by artists (if known).
