Equipment

The VRL maintains and makes available the collection of slide projection and imaging equipment detailed below.

Slide Projectors
Slide Carousels
Caramates
Light Tables
Copystand

Slide Projectors

The VRL has 15 slide projectors. 9 of the Kodak Ektagraphic projectors are stationed in classrooms: two are in FA 114, two in FA 126, two in FA 217, two in FA 226, and one in the Boor Sculpture Studio.

The remaining 6 projectors are available for check-out by Art Department Faculty and Graduate Students to be returned the same day or no later than 24 hours. (Please see the Visual Resources Curator for special circumstances.) 8 projector remote controls are also available for check-out. If a projector is lost or damaged, an appropriate replacement fee will be determined by the Visual Resources Curator and the Art History faculty.

Faculty and Staff from all other departments may contact A/V for equipment (2-3647).

Slide Carousels

The VRL has 31 slide carousels available for check-out by Art Department Faculty and Graduate Students for one week. Undergraduate Art Students may check out slide carousels for class presentations on the day of the presentation to be returned the same day. (Please see the Visual Resources Curator for special circumstances.)

Caramates

There are three Telex caramates for viewing slides in the VRL. Please see the VRL staff for instruction on the use of these.

Light Tables

There are two light tables available for use in the VRL—one large and one small. There are also three Ednalite Transviewer slide sorter/light tables that are made available to Art faculty.

Copystand

The VRL’s copystand can be used for copywork (either film-based or digital) by the VRL, faculty, and Art graduate students. To use the copystand, please make an appointment with the Visual Resources Curator and provide your own film. The VRL has a Bogen Gossen Luna-Pro Digital Light Meter and a Pfaff Watson 35mm Bulk Film Loader for use with the copystand.
