All submissions must be original (not previously published) digital 8X10 photographs. The copyright must belong to the submitter.
Participants may submit up to 12 photos. There are two kinds of submissions: themed submissions (photo-essays) and singles (non-themed submissions). A themed submission should be accompanied by an essay no longer than eight double spaced pages. Both types of submissions must include a title (“Ryan at the bus stop”) and an author name (Maria L. Digital). On a separate sheet please list the place and time the photographs were taken. All participants, including those who submit in both categories, are limited to a maximum of 12 photographs.
Copyright
Copyright of the image remains the property of the photographer. A photo credit with copyright symbol will be provided under each image.
By submitting their photos, participants agree that they may be published on the conference website, and exhibited at the University at Albany (State University of New York) or in related subsequent publications. No other use of photographs or essays will be permitted without the express permission of the copyright holder.
Model Release
Submitters acknowledge that they have secured sufficient written permission of any recognizable individuals appearing in the photographs to be able to grant the right to publish their photos as specified above.
Submitted images may be taken with digital cameras or with film-based cameras and scanned into digital format.

All photos will be judged by a jury of educators, researchers, and artists.
DEADLINE for submissions: MAY 31, 2008.
Authors will be informed about the jury’s vote by JUNE 15, 2008.
All authors of accepted submissions will be invited to present their work at a conference for the Visual Study of Education SEPTEMBER 5/6 2008 in Albany, New York.
