Information Technology Services (ITS)

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides a wide range of services to support the academic and business needs of the UAlbany community. Visit https://www.albany.edu/its for assistance and more information.

All students receive an account that includes a UAlbany email address and access to numerous online services, including MyUAlbany, Brightspace, Microsoft 365 Apps, Zoom, and several others. Many services require students to use 2-Step with Duo, an authentication app, to verify their identity. The Information Commons in all University Libraries offers access to computers, University-licensed software, and printers, including wireless printing options. Cellular and UAlbany WiFi are available across all campus locations, with a separate residential network, provided by Apogee Inc., in all residence halls.

The ITS Service Desk is the one-stop shop for all technology-related questions and support. Speak with a knowledgeable staff member or explore the self-service options available in the askIT Knowledge Base. New students are encouraged to visit https://www.albany.edu/its/manage-your-account for helpful information to get started using campus online services.

UAlbany students can request various software titles from the ITS Software Catalog. They are also eligible for special pricing on Apple and Dell computers. For more information, log in to MyUAlbany and visit “Technology Resources” in the left navigation menu. Additionally, all students must comply with the University’s Responsible Use of Information Technology and all other campus IT policies.
