Each year UAS provides funds to support events on campus which
foster educational growth and community involvement
UAS has provided funds to events such as the Latino Conference, Don't Walk Alone, and
the
Martin Luther King Luncheon. It is the goal of the corporation to give long-term support
to
continuing events, and also to assist in establishing new or fledgling events in the University at Albany community within the corporation's ability to provide funds.
The Board of Directors has established a standing Program Committee and charged it
with the responsibility of soliciting requests from campus organizations in need of
financial support for
the academic year 2008 - 2009. The committee will review each
request and determine whether
or not the event meets the criteria for UAS Program
Funds, and the amount of funding available
for the event.
Last year the Program Committee received over two hundred applications, with
monetary
requests exceeding $500,000. This year we expect even more applications
to compete for the available funds. While the committee tries to distribute its awards
as widely as possible, only
the most innovative and significant events can be fully
funded.
To ensure that your event receives the full consideration it deserves, please be sure to answer
all sections on the application. Program requests will only be considered upon receipt of your
fully completed application. Every group that submits an application will
be contacted by letter, indicating whether or not the group has received an award, and
if so, for how much. Each
award must be used for the purpose indicated and on the
date indicated on the application, for
an event which occurs between July 1, 2008 and
June 30, 2009. |

Using Your Funding:
Before The Event:

- Remember to use UAS business partners, if they can provide similar or
identical

Coca Cola).
- Exceptions to this policy need advance approval - contact us at

or
email uas@albany.edu.

Be Sure To Contact Us If...
(442-5950 or uas@albany.edu)
You need to change the date of your event. The funding is awarded for
the
specific
date
that you supplied in your application.
Your event is cancelled.
Please let us know if you will not be using the funding - we can award it to
another
needy
organization.
You plan to use the money for another event. You must re-submit an
application form
with
a request to reallocate the money to another event.
This request must then go to
the UAS
Board of Directors, Program
Committee
for approval. We can assist you with
this process.
You have any questions or need assistance.
Supplemental Program Funds are also available
throughout
the
school year
for events occuring
July 1, 2007 -
June 30, 2008
Each year, UAS has identified supplemental funding to support campus
programs
that
are planned after the original Program Fund deadlines have
passed.
So that we
may support
many events, program fund awards under
this supplemental
process are
limited to $500 per
event. Requests for
Supplemental Funding must be
filed with the
UAS Program Committee for
review and consideration no later than 30
days prior to
the date of your
event.

- Cornerstone Protestant Campus Ministry: Link to Life, Inc.
In March, 2005 the Cornerstone Protestant Campus Ministry, Link to Life,
Inc. applied
for
a
UAS Supplemental Program Fund Grant to assist them
with their Bone Marrow
Drive.
With the help of a $500 UAS Grant, Link to Life, Inc. was successful in
obtaining 425
bone
marrow samples that were sent to the National Bone
Marrow Registry. We join
the
Cornerstone Protestant Campus Ministry,
Link to Life, Inc. in their prayers that a
match
may
be found for Anthony
Hill, Shania Clarke, and so many others whose lives
depend on
a bone
marrow transplant.
UAS is proud to assist the University community in making a difference.
