Bernabei-McNamee Is New Women’s Basketball Coach

Joanna Bernabei-McNamee, former head coach of the women’s basketball program at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky, has been named head coach of UAlbany’s women’s team. The West Virginia native, popularly known as “Coach Mac,” led Pikeville to back-to-back National Tournament berths. Bernabei-McNamee was named 2016 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NAIA Regional Coach of the Year and 2015 Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year. Her previous coaching experience includes the University of Maryland, West Virginia University, and Eastern Kentucky.
