The Foundation also acquired 2 University Place, which at one time housed UAlbany's School of Public Health. The property is situated off Western Avenue, near the south entrance to the uptown campus. This building, which will first provide temporary space for University administrators during construction of the new Administration and Admission Building at the top of Collins Circle, will ultimately provide critically needed "surge" space and will house "back office" administrative and support offices, relieving some of the pressure on learning and research space on the academic podium. This acquisition thus supports key long-term strategic goals of the University.
